Anxious Me- A Promise To Fuel Your Faith

A to-do list that that doesn’t care about your state of mind.
Little ones that must be tended to.
Laundry that is never finished.
A house that is screaming to be scrubbed… and dusted…. and mopped… again.
The daily obligation of getting dinner on the table.
Disappointment in yourself that you procrastinated and now can’t seem to get it all done.

This was me last week. I knew that if I didn’t sit down and get some strength from God, I wasn’t going to make it. Well, I wouldn’t make it in a way that pleased God or anybody else in my household.

Thankfully, God reminded me of 1 Peter 5:7.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

Instead of scrubbing my bathroom while my 2-year-old napped, I took out my journal and made a list of my anxieties.

As I talked with God about these worries, it was so refreshing to remember that God isn’t distant or unfeeling as I struggle. Rather, He cares for me even in the midst of feeling overwhelmed. I am not alone as I wrestle with these fears. He is here with me, choosing to take my burdens because He loves me. Yes, even me.

The God who made the universe notices me.  Cares for me.  And invites me to lean on Him.

So, why don’t you lean on Him a little today, too?  He cares for you.  Yes, even YOU.   Those anxieties that only you and God know about, well, He is able to take those for you and even wants to.  Will your faith be fueled a bit today by believing the sweet promise of 1 Peter 5:7?
