About Me

courtneylmoore.com PC- Jenna Kenyon

As my tagline reads, I am in fact a pastor’s wife who would like to provide you with fresh hope from God’s word, especially as it relates to motherhood and ministry.  These three categories really sum up who I am: a wife and mom with a heart to invest in the Kingdom.

Knowing Christ

I came to Christ as a 9 year old one summer at Vacation Bible School.  I had heard the story of the cross many times, but it wasn’t until then that it became personal.

God began to show me that even as a fourth grader, I had messed up.  Those mess-ups were called sin, and they had separated me from a holy God.

By His amazing grace, God wanted to remove my sins so that we could be reconciled. But I couldn’t do it on my own.  Only Jesus could take away my sins.  And He did.  He died on the cross in my place… that is, the death He endured was actually due me, but in love, He received my punishment. Three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, validating the effectiveness of His sacrifice on the cross and demonstrating His power over all things.

Now my sin is removed as far as the east is from the west. I am no longer an enemy of God, but rather His redeemed child. I am free to walk in all the fullness of Christ and experience His joy and presence every single day from now until eternity. Hallelujah! Do you know Him? Contact me if you’d like to talk.

Ministry and Education

My relationship with God really took off in high school. (Thanks, Alan Broome, for being a wonderful youth pastor!) It was then I felt called to ministry, but I wasn’t quite sure what that would look like since I knew so few women in ministry.  I trusted the Lord despite my uncertainties, and went to the University of Mobile  to study in their Religious Studies program.

There I had the amazing privilege of sitting under a wonderful pastor for 4 years who gave me a such a solid foundation of the Bible. (I’m indebted to you, Dr. Lawson!) As I grew in my relationship with the Lord, my heart also began to grow for the lost. After graduation, I moved to Costa Rica for two years and taught English as a Second Language in the Journeyman Program.  Upon returning to the U.S., I moved to Louisville, KY and got an M.A. in Biblical Counseling at Southern Seminary. My degree there has proven incredibly useful in learning how the Bible actually helps people in real life problems.

Brent and I met in seminary after weeks of my friend interrogating him to confirm that he was indeed a quality guy! Then and only then did we meet. (Thanks, dear Katie Sullivan!) We’ll celebrate our 11th anniversary this summer. Brent serves as Adult Groups Pastor at Pinelake Church in Brandon, Mississippi, at the Reservoir Campus.

Being a pastor’s wife brings a unique perspective that I’m grateful to have.  It really hasn’t been what I expected. We’ve been through the valleys and the mountain tops together, with the Father beside us who has promised to never leave us or forsake us. We love the church and are humbled God would have us on a journey to serve Christ’s bride together.

Our marriage verse is Psalm 34:3:

“O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.”

I am the mom of 2 cuties, Jude and Luke.  Jude is wrapping up kindergarten, and Luke is three. Like any mom, I have huge dreams for them… not necessarily about what their future jobs will be, but mainly that they will grow into men who are wise, who love God more than anything else in this world and that they would live honorably and courageously before Him.

This year I became a home-school mom to Jude, something I can honestly say I never saw coming. We participate in a classical University Model School, which means Jude is is the classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays his teacher provides lessons for us to complete at home. I actually taught some classes there myself this year, too: Latin and English Grammar.

So, that’s a little about me!  Please make yourself at home here and feel free to leave a comment.  I’d love to connect with you.
